Dr Ashok Panagariya, awardee of the prestigious Dr BC Roy medal by President of India is presently working as Professor & Head, Department of Neurology, SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He had a brilliant academic career and passed his MBBS with many distinctions and was presented S. Bhatnagar Gold Medal. During his post graduation in medicine, he was also awarded Senior Research fellowship of ICMR. Later he super specialized in Neurology and after holding different academic positions acquired the present one in 1994.

Being the first qualified Neurologist in Rajasthan, Dr Panagariya has been instrumental in developing the super specialty of Neurology in the state. He is the president of Neurology Care & Research Society, an organization devoted to Public Awareness programme, free service to poor and downtrodden. He runs a rural-epilepsy-clinic. He is also president of Parkinson’s Foundation. Has served Territorial Army for 25 years & has been recommended for Honorary Consultant to Armed Forces of India.

Dr Panagariya has published more than Ninety papers and chaired many national & International conferences. He has been on the editorial board of Indexed journals of NSI, Neuro Science Today, JIMA and referee to Journal of API. He has delivered invitation Lectures at many top Medical universities in India including the AIIMS. He is recognized consultant in Neurology in UK. Has been on the Advisory Panel of the Central Drug Laboratory (CDRL), India for conducting trials on new drug in Neurology.

Dr Panagariya has many social awards to his credit. He also won the Merit award from Government of Rajasthan on 26th Jan 1992.

His extra curricular activities include keen interest in occult sciences, Astrology, Palmistry, Brain-Mind-Body relationship. Trying to establish a scientific relevance of alternate therapies in health & disease.
